Phono stages play a vital role in any hi-fi system that includes a turntable. The basic volume output from a turntable is too low for most modern hi-fi amplifiers. A phono stage is used to boost the low output from the turntable to a useable level for your amplifier. Some modern amplifiers already contain an integrated phono stage, for those that do not, a separate phone stage will need to be purchased. A separate phono stage is connected between the turntable and the LINE input on your amplifier.
Alternatively, we stock a range of turntables that include an integrated phono stage. For example, Pro-Ject Elemental Phono USB, Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB and Pro-ject Debut Carbon Phono USB.
